I was talking to a freind of mine and telling him how much cooler the cartoons were when I was a kid compared to the cartoons from the 90′s and today. So that and retrojunk.com inspired me to make this video. The criteria for my top 10 is not the quality of the shows but the quality of the opening intro and Theme song. If it was a top cartoons of the 80′s I would have included Robotech, Silverhawks, GI joe you know stuff like that.

These are some pretty obscure cartoons. I was a cartoon junkie? in the 80′s and I only recognize M.A.S.K., Defenders of the Earth, and Jem. Bottom-line, though…the 80′s were great!
Wow, I did nothing but watch TV for the whole of the 80s and I remember absolutely none of these. I’m guessing they never made it to the UK. Did you not have Battle of the Planets, Dangermouse, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Dungeons and Dragons, Inspector Gadget, Ulysees, Belle and Sebastion,? Count Duckula, Dogtanian and the Muskahounds or Willo the Wisp
I remember maybe half of these. I was born in 1988 so my memories? of the 80′s are slim. But my 80′s favs were muppet babies and alvin and the chipmunks and inspector gadget!
@Jeff74FL Who? remmembers a sci-fi action adventure cartoon about a planet that is inhabited by canabilistical cyborg machines that love to eat metal.All machines need human flash to cover up their metallic bodies,so they would not get eaten by other cyborg machines.A blonde hero must save the planet ,kill the Machine King and resque the people underground.I saw this cartoon in 1998-1999 about twice.Can somebody help me find this catoon and other movies on YouTube?

Ok, i don’t remember ANY of those except Jem? which was awesome. Where the heck is He-Man, She-Ra & Thundercats on this list?
uhhhhh……….how about TRANSFORMERS? VOLTRON? SILVERHAWKS?? GI JOE? COME-ON. I appreciate your attempt at being obscure, but none of these songs hold a candle to some of the more well known themes from that time.
